M-203: Community Leadership - Live Virtual Course
This course (originally scheduled in-person for May 28, 2021) is now being held virtually over 2 days. It is also available in an online version.
Learn how to work with leaders to achieve goals and set a positive tone for the community. This course shows you how to inspire the cooperation needed from board leaders and volunteers to achieve management goals. You’ll learn proven ways to motivate and guide community leaders and help board and committee members accomplish more at every meeting..
Topics include:
- Strategies for building better relationships
- Preparing and running efficient meetings
- Motivating and guiding board members
- Encouraging interest and participation in committees
- Developing election procedures
- Organizing community records

Course Length
The virtual M-203: Community Leadership course will broadcast on Thursday, December 9, 2021 - Friday, December 10, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. CST both days. You must attend both sessions and pass the final exam to receive credit for the course. This course fulfills all regular continuing education requirements through CAI and CAMICB. We recommend you take the course on a desktop or laptop computer for the best experience, and log-in 10-15 minutes before the start the course to ensure you are connected to the broadcast.
- Online Version: 4-6 hours to complete the course plus 4 hours of study via reading assignments and webinars. Students have 4 months—120 days from purchase date—to complete the course and take the 60-minute exam to receive credit.
